Stefan Moberg - Member of The Swedish Actors Equity Association and The Swedish Union of Playwrights.

Stefan trained as an actor at the Swedish School of Acting in Stockholm during the seventies. In more recent years he has worked diligently breaking new ground for himself and his colleagues, besides keeping up his work in traditional theatre. Writing and directing stage productions directly commissioned by public authorities, communities, private business companies, (most of them in education or marketing), and several of Sweden’s largest trade unions, has convinced him that theatre can be an extremely efficient form of education.

These productions have been seen by tens of thousands of people. Often in connection with seminars or campaigns. Sometimes as a purely recreational activity. For this way of introducing culture into the everyday working life he was given The City of Stockholm Cultural Award in 1994.

Stefan has recently turned his hand to writing the script of a new interactive combined teaching media/adventure game on CD-ROM. He is deeply convinced that the demand for writers, directors, poets and other artists in all aspects of information technology will continue to increase rapidly. The means are there, now the contents must be improved on.

In the traditional fields of theatre Stefan has worked with most media and stage forms. He has been a part owner of a recording studio specialising in books on tape, done a lot of voice-over, written and produced educational videos and directed satirical entertainment shows for the Swedish Television.

Being an accomplished translator from English to Swedish and vice versa, especially concerning drama (of course) and other types of fiction, Stefan yearns to find the time and funding to translate some of the not-so often-played Elizabethan and Restoration playwrights into Swedish. (Meanwhile, give him a West End or Broadway hit, why don’t you?)

Stefan has also written close to a hundred songs, most of them new lyrics to well known tunes. But don’t ask him to sing them out loud...

And yes, he still does not mind acting a part himself, when asked to.
